We're currently looking for a compassionate and experienced Complex Care Assistant to join our team in Birmingham, providing overnight 1:1 care and support to a young child with complex healthcare needs.

About the Role

As part of this dedicated care package, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the child's comfort, safety, and wellbeing throughout the night. You'll work closely with our Clinical Lead and wider care team to deliver exceptional, family-centred care in the child's home.

We're looking for someone who is confident, attentive, engaging, and committed to providing the highest standard of care.

What We're Looking For

To be considered for this role, you'll need:

  • A minimum of 1 year's UK Complex Care experience
  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with complex healthcare needs (desirable)
  • A caring, patient, and professional approach
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently
  • Flexibility to work every other weekend

Essential Clinical Skills

You should be competent and confident in:

  • Epilepsy management
  • PEG feeding and care
  • Tracheostomy care
  • Medication administration
  • Oxygen therapy

Your Responsibilities

As a Complex Care Assistant, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred personal care
  • Monitor the child's health and wellbeing throughout the night
  • Provide specialist clinical care under the guidance of our Clinical Lead
  • Support with nutrition, hydration, and medication
  • Maintain accurate care records and report any changes or concerns promptly
  • Assist with light household duties where required
  • Promote comfort, dignity, safety, and independence at all times
  • Attend team meetings, supervisions, and ongoing training
