Secure Healthcare Solutions is seeking Theatre Healthcare Assistants with recent theatre experience to support surgical services across Somerset.
This role offers flexible working hours and competitive pay of £15–£21 per hour.
This position is ideal for a motivated and compassionate HCA who is confident working within a fast-paced surgical environment and committed to delivering high-quality patient care.
You will support patients throughout their perioperative journey and assist theatre teams in maintaining safe, efficient, and well-prepared clinical environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Support patients before, during, and after surgical procedures
- Assist with theatre preparation, equipment checks, and stock management
- Circulate in theatre under supervision
- Escort patients and support safe positioning during procedures
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and infection prevention
- Work closely with nurses, ODPs, surgeons, and anaesthetists to ensure safe patient care
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant within a theatre environment
- Essential: Recent theatre experience within an acute or surgical setting (Ideally within the last 2 years)
- Good understanding of theatre protocols, aseptic technique, and infection control and prevention
- Caring, patient-focused approach
- Strong communication and team ethic
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced theatre environment
